Call handling limit

Postby jaime.dominguez » Fri Jun 09, 2017 7:54 am

Hi,

We would like to test the free version but we have seen that the call handling capacity is limited to 3 simultaneous calls. What does it mean exactly? Only 3 calls are monitored but the Asterisk can handle more? or this limits the asterisk not to handle more than 3 simultaneous calls?

Thanks in advance,
Jaime

The call handling limit of the Free Edition means that exceeding 3 simultaneous calls will shut down HAAst (and implicitly Asterisk with it).

The Free Edition allows you to test compatibility, features, usability, etc. which is usually sufficient for a trial, or even for a small office wishing to create a cluster. The Free Edition is not designed to handle the full call load of a mid to large size business, nor offer all features (of the Commercial Unlimited Edition).

If you wish to conduct a pilot with all features enabled and capacity limits removed we would be happy to work with you on the pilot (see http://www.telium.ca/?kb10002) and provide a temporary Commercial Unlimited Edition license.

What is the call handling limit for the unlimited version of the HAAst? Does it depend only on Hardware and Asterisk limitations? We plan to install a pair of Asterisk servers with 400 simultaneous calls. Is it possible to use HAAst with them?

The unlimited edition of HAAst does not impose any limit on number of simultaneous calls. From a practical standpoint HAAst is limited only by the capacity of your hardware, and the design of Asterisk.

We have HAAst deployments with over 4500 phone sets, 1500 simultaneous calls, 800 call setups per minute, etc. HAAst operates perfectly in those environments.

If you are at the point of sizing hardware for purchase, we recommend adding 5% to CPU capacity, and 500MB to memory capacity for HAAst, above what is demanded by Asterisk. (Which in the overall scale of these systems is negligible).
